Giripar Scheduled Caste Protection Committee has decided to boycott Hati Khumli to be held on January 14. While talking to journalists in Nahan, committee officials said that they will not attend any meeting of Hati i.e. Rajput community unless the Central Government and Himachal Government make concrete arrangements to guarantee their rights and security. Anil Manget, President of Giripar Scheduled Caste Rights Protection Committee, District Sirmaur, said that we have no objection to the tribal reservation given to the castes of Transgiri by the Central Government, but the government has not yet clarified who will protect them. Manget said that the Central Government has put the security of Scheduled Castes in danger by making a kind of complicated law. Manget said that this law will make the Atrocity Act ineffective, which will put their safety in danger. It is noteworthy that in 2022, the Modi government at the Center has given tribal reservation to some castes living in the Transgiri area of Sirmaur district, this reservation law has been challenged by the Scheduled Caste people in the Himachal Pradesh High Court. They say that if this law is implemented in Transgiri, then the Atrocity Act will become ineffective and their safety will be in danger. Since the people to whom the government has given reservation, these people commit caste abuses against the Scheduled Castes. They are not allowed to go to the temple and do not eat food cooked by them. Not only this, food is served by sitting separately in the wedding ceremony. If he opposes this, he is defamed and ostracized from the society by imposing financial penalty. Similarly, Gujar community has also challenged the Hati Act. The Gujar community says that the Hati caste to which the government has given reservation is not recorded anywhere in the land records. Himachal Pradesh High Court has currently put a stay on this Act, the next hearing of which is to be held in March.
