Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has been included in the list of India’s most influential 100 persons, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. In the statement issued from Shimla, Congress MLA and Deputy Chief Whip keval Singh Pathania, MLA Bhuvneshwar Gaur and Ajay Solanki said that due to the notable work being done in the field of drug prevention including new initiative in the green energy sector in the welfare of orphaned children, women, sensitive classesThe Chief Minister has been included in this renowned list.He said that after the formation of the Congress government in the state, the Chief Minister first visited Balashram in Tuticandi, Shimla and resolved to take responsibility of parents of orphans. To fulfill this resolution, the state government launched the Chief Minister Sukh-Ashraya Yojana and Sukh-Ashraya Fund for orphans, eligible women and elders. Under this scheme, the state government adopted orphans as Children of the State and today these children are being provided various benefits including pocket expenses, housing facilities, free education and foreign tour from higher levels. Assuming the success of this scheme, the Chief Minister has been included in the list of the most influential persons. He said that social security pension has been provided to about 8.25 lakh persons by spending Rs 410 crore in the financial year 2024-25, ensuring social security. Sukhu has set a target to make the state a green energy state by 2026, the year 2027 self -sufficient and the most prosperous state by the year 2032. The state government has ensured strict action on the drug mafia. There is a provision to confiscate property if found involved in drug trafficking. During the budget session, the Himachal Pradesh Organized Crime (Prevention and Control) Bill was passed by the government to provide hanging of drug smugglers or sentenced to life imprisonment for someone’s death due to organized crime like chitta smuggling, drugs and fake liquor making or selling.
